CAMP SCHEDULE

Picture
At camp we stay very busy.  There are several devotion times that I want you to be aware of before you come. Enclosed is a daily schedule, however, please note the following:

  • 7:30 AM – Personal Devotions: These are provided in the Camper Workbook and should be reviewed by a counselor each morning before breakfast.

  • 8:15 PM – Heart Check: This is a new approach to our previous time of Youth Group Devotions.  Instead of having those devotions after dinner, we will go straight to chapel after dinner.  Then we will have a time from 8:15-8:45 for Heart Check.  This will be a sort of ’extended invitation’ for the youth group.  Youth pastors and group leaders should use this time to follow up with the altar call or other spiritual needs of the group.  This is not a formal devotion time and can be used as the church leader sees fit.

  • 10:30 PM – Cabin Devotions: Usually held by the church but could be the cabin as a whole.  A brief summary of the preaching or focus on a point is a suggested topic for the evening.  Every year there is someone saved during cabin devotions.  It is a very personal and powerful time for the group.

HELPFUL TIPS

Picture
  •  Encourage your young people to be involved in every available activity.  Please make them aware that there may be times they must choose between two activities because of scheduling conflicts.

  •  The morning activities are competitions between teams which include campers from every church.  The afternoon activities are specific church competitions, unless otherwise noted.

  •  Our most prominent competitions are the Preaching/Teaching competitions.  Please note that all lessons are to be from 7-10 minutes long and must be taught from the King James Bible.

  •  Our music competition covers 2 days and incorporates several different competitions:  solo, ensemble, instrumental, etc.  Please note that all musical pieces (whether live or recorded accompaniment) are to be conservative.  By conservative we mean a musical piece that would be acceptable to be played in a traditional church service.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact a director for more information.

  • Please review the brochures and note the “What to Bring” and “What not to Bring” sections.  It will aid you in being well prepared for the week.  Please note the dress requirements (especially for chapel) and prepare your folks ahead of time.

  • I would like to also inform you that there will be strict enforcement of our ‘lights-out’ policy.  No campers are allowed outside the cabins after lights-out.

  • Our Bible Trivia Competition will cover the book of COLOSSIANS.  Start studying!
